Welcome to our I Scream and Candy Shop Trunk or Treat display.
Hi Friends! Fall is one of my favorite times of year. I love everything about it…the cooler temperatures, pumpkin patches, apple picking, and of course, the holidays. In my mind, Halloween is the kick-off to the holiday season—with Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly following behind. Today I’m so excited to share my I Scream and Candy Shop: Chilling Treats and Frightening Eats Trunk or Treat display with all of you. I created this trunk or treat in partnership with Oriental Trading and Fun365.
Trunk or treats are such a fun Halloween tradition. In our family, they are a complete win-win in everyone’s book. I love the opportunity to get creative in decorating and theming our trunk display while knowing that the kids can walk around gathering their treats in a safe, confined environment. My boys are all about the candy, so they love being able to walk from car to car loading up their Halloween treat bags.
Now let’s take a closer look at our I Scream and Candy Shop Trunk or Treat display…
May we help you?
With a guaranteed fright in every bite, served by our Life Size Posable Skeleton employees, this spooktacular shop will leave everyone at this year’s trunk or treat screaming with delight. Transforming your trunk into this whimsical, creepy storefront is easy with these trunk or treat ideas and inspiration, Creepy Cone Ring Toss Game tutorial, and a full pack of themed free printable designs.
At past trunk or treat celebrations, the trunks that always stand out in all of our minds are the ones that have a unique twist and an interactive game element. With that in mind, I decided that our I Scream and Candy Shop display should have a ring toss game for the kids to play, as well as serve some different treats. Adding a cooler as part of our display made it possible to provide pre-packaged ice cream treats, as well as candy, to all of our trick or treaters as they were enjoying the festivities.
I Scream Creepy Cone Ring Toss game
As I mentioned above, I loved the idea of adding an interactive game element to our trunk or treat display. It was important to me that children of all ages be able to enjoy the game. For that reason I decided on an I Scream Creepy Cone Ring Toss game. This homemade ring toss game was such a blast! As a prize for ringing a creepy cone, our little trick or treaters received an Ice Cream Cone Shooter. These were a huge hit—no pun intended! Is it a trick or a treat? You decide! But there is no debating on the fun factor of this Halloween ring toss game!

PIN FOR LATER:
I’m so excited. My family and I were just discussing last night ideas for our church’s trunk or treat coming up in 2 weeks. This is adorable and I don’t have to think! Win win.
Hi Holly,
Thank you so much for your message! You are so sweet! I’m so happy you can use the idea and printables. I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating with your family and friends!
Thanks again! You made my day!

How did you make the item that has an eyeball and worm wrapped around it?
Hi Cindy,
Thanks so much for your message! I just used an ice cream creamsicle pop (they come in a box of 6 or 8 from the grocery store) to make the treat in the photo. I just wrapped the ice cream treat with the gummy worm and pushed the gummy eyeball into the pop. Any frozen ice cream treat would work well. I bet ice cream sandwiches would be great too! You could wrap the worms around the perimeter of the sandwich! Just an idea! 🙂
Thanks again,
Alison
Hello, I would love to do this for my trunk-or-treat this year! I’m wondering, where did you find the yellow and white stripped canopy hang over the top of your trunk?
Thanks so much for this wonderful and fun idea!
Hi Kate,
Thank you so much for your message and kind words. I made the yellow and white canopy out of cardboard. I just cut the scalloped edge with a box cutter and then painted the white and yellow stripes with acrylic paint. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Have a great day!
Alison
