Southwest Boho Inspired Taco Night Party
Hi Friends! Grab your girlfriends and let’s take Taco Tuesday to a whole new level! I’m so excited to share my new “All We Need Are Friends and Tacos” Southwest Boho Inspired Taco Night Party with all of you today. I recently partnered with Pace® and Walmart to bring you this girls night taco celebration. We all know that Tuesdays are for tacos and tacos are for Pace®. This party is full of inspiration and ideas, as well as free decor party printables, so you can easily recreate this celebration in no time!
Pace® has such a delicious bold kick of flavor, that after one bite you will certainly know why it is America’s favorite salsa for tacos. Hover over the image above to start shopping for your favorite Pace® salsa and sauce!
When I was first envisioning this party, I knew I wanted it to have a fun Southwest inspired boho chic and feminine vibe. To add to the theme, I incorporated low tables and pillow floor seating. The main color palette of the party was deep teal, green, orange, yellow, deep magenta and white. For the decor, I created a large DIY dream catcher (step-by-step instructions are below in this post) that hung from the ceiling. I also made a crown of fresh flowers, as well as a feather and gemstone headband, to dress up my steer head that hung on the wall as a backdrop. I loved how adding these simple touches really enhanced the steer skull and made it so much more feminine and whimsical. Along with the fresh flowers, I also wanted to make sure I incorporated lots of cacti and southwest patterns into the decor and party printables. A loose and casual dining experience paired perfectly with the Southwest boho inspired taco night party theme. I love the idea of having all of the food only an arm’s-length away so you can chat, eat and laugh all night long without getting up or leaving the room. Sounds like such a fun night, right?! To achieve this look, I put all of the food on the low tables as well as the back buffet table. Warm taco shells and my go-to favorite slow cooker shredded chicken, made the perfect base to the taco. Then I had an array of dishes of Pace® Medium Picante Sauce and Pace® Chunky Salsa Medium, black beans, sour cream, jalapeño peppers, banana peppers, and cheese so that all the party guests could easily assemble their tacos exactly as they would like.
With a quick trip to my local Walmart I was able to grab the Pace® Medium Picante Sauce and Pace® Chunky Salsa Medium that I was looking for, as well as all the other food items that I needed for the tacos. Walmart is so convenient and a one-stop for everything you need to make taco night a huge success!
I mentioned above that the slow cooker shredded chicken that I made was my go-to favorite—that’s because it’s so easy to make and always turns out delicious. Then, dress it up with Pace® salsas and sauces for a bold kick of flavor. I love that I can throw the few simple ingredients that it requires into the slow cooker and then work on decorating and getting everything else ready for the party while it cooks.
To make the slow cooker shredded chicken all you need are:
3 lbs of chicken
1 cup of chicken broth
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion flakes
Toss all the ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. Then, simply shred the chicken with a fork and serve. Depending on the number of party guests you might need to double or adjust this recipe as you see fit.

DIY DREAM CATCHER CRAFT TUTORIAL
One of my favorite decor items from this party was the large DIY dream catcher that I made. I hung it from the ceiling and it added the perfect amount of texture and color while really enhancing the Southwest boho vibe. Below are the step-by-step instructions on how to assemble this dream catcher.
To begin, you will need 2 steel hoops (19 inches and 12 inches), 2 round white crochet doilies, tassel ribbon, an assortment of feathers and loose tassels, as well as braided macrame craft cord (in turquoise and white) and a hot glue gun and sticks.
Step 1: Start with the larger of the two hoops. Apply a small amount of hot glue to the hoop and begin to tightly wrap the white craft cord around the hoop. When you reach the end, secure with hot glue.
Step 2: Next, place the larger of the two doilies in the center of the hoop that you just finished wrapping in the white cord. Loop the white craft cord through the doily and around the hoop, repeating around the entire circle, securing the doily in the center.
Step 3: Next, hot glue the tassel ribbon to the entire perimeter of the large hoop. Then, flip the hoop over as this is the back of the dream catcher.
Step 4: Next repeat step 1, only now use the smaller of the two hoops and the turquoise craft cord instead of the white.
Step 5: Using the turquoise craft cord, thread it through the doily and around the hoop attaching them together into one piece.
Step 6: Next, tie the smaller hoop and larger hoop together. Then, attach many pieces of cord (of varying lengths) to the smaller hoop. Allow them to hang down as long as you would like.
Step 7: It’s time to decorate your dream catcher! Attach assorted feathers and tassels to the hanging pieces of white and turquoise cord. Have fun with it! Combine different colors and textures and blend larger and smaller feathers with different sized tassels. This will create a very eye-catching and eclectic look!
Step 8: Hang and display your dream catcher. What a beautiful DIY project!
