A huge thank you to My Mind’s Eye for the jawsome shark party goods. Although I was given resources to create this post, all of my opinions and feelings about (how gorgeous and well-made) their products are 100% my own. This post also contains affiliate links. Hi Friends! I’m so excited to share the details of Sawyer’s Jawsome 7th Birthday Shark Splash Bash! This party really was a fin-tastic time! The kids had a blast! The party happened to fall on a 95 degree day (quite a heat wave!) so our shark water slide provided a perfect way to cool off! Check out the full post below for all of the decorations, foods, games and activities we did. Also, all of the printables from this party are available in my Etsy shop.
Shark Party Decorations
When I was first beginning to plan this party I knew I wanted it to be bright and beachy with lots of red, yellow and shades of blue. Also, I knew I wanted to do a lot of pattern mixing, all with a strong ocean vibe. As with most of my parties, I first started by designing the invitation. Then I moved onto the decor signs and food signs.
Beware! Shark infested waters! When our party guests first arrived, they were greeted with this sign to report to the backyard for the party. If you have been following along here for a while you know how much I love the little details. How fun are these “chomped” flip flops?! I picked up this pair of flip flops at Dollar Tree a few days before the party and cut a giant “bite” out of each one with scissors. Sawyer thought it was so funny!
When I saw all of the shark party decor from My Mind’s Eye I instantly fell in love. It was exactly what I was looking for! I loved the shark hats, party fans, shark napkins, lifeguard & life preserver plates, lifeguard banner, and beachy photo props—it was all a perfect fit for the theme. As I’ve mentioned before in my recent 4th of July post, all of My Mind’s Eye’s products are so adorable, high-quality and very well made. These, of course, were no different.
Shark Party Food
Splash by for a bite! The party was in the middle of the afternoon but I knew that the kids would work up an appetite because of all of the activity. We had pizza and watermelon along with a bunch of sweet treats and goodies. I love giving simple foods creative names that match the theme. That being said, we had shark teeth watermelon, candy sushi, life preserver donuts, seaweed licorice, jawsome shark cupcakes and candy coral. We also had a ton of drinks…it was 95 degrees after all!
Shark Party Activities and Games
The kids had an absolute blast on the Shark Water Slide! It was by far their favorite activity at the party. We also had a lot of water sprayers to add to the fun. In between splashes they also played the shark game “Don’t Get Chomped” and had fun with all of our cute photo props.
Shark Party Favors
Take a favor, chum! At the end of the party, we had to send all of our friends home with a jawsome goodie bag. I’ve linked the shark goodies at the bottom of this post. We picked up the shark tooth necklaces when we were at the beach earlier this summer. To dress up the muslin bags, I designed a “You are Jaw-some” graphic and made it into an iron-on transfer. I liked the idea of giving the kids a reusable bag to hold other treasures long after the party.
Happy Birthday Sawyer! You are an incredible boy and bring such a huge amount of light to our lives. Each day it is a joy to watch you grow into such a strong, independent, imaginative, funny and creative young man. You are such a caring and loving big brother to Easton and the only (now) 7-year-old I know that wants to be an entrepreneur when you grow up. I know you will achieve anything you put your mind to. Always know you are loved beyond measure, my sweet boy.
I hope you enjoyed our Shark Party Splash Bash! If you use any ideas or printables from this party please follow along on Instagram and tag me. I love connecting with all of you and seeing your awesome creations and celebrations!
