The month of May is always a very busy AND very fun time! The excitement of the end of the school year is palpable…for both kids, and teachers & staff alike! Also, May marks Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week, a great time to thank all the wonderful teachers and staff at your school for all of their hard work this school year. I am a part of the PTA at my kids’ school and this year we did a Carnival Circus Teacher Appreciation Week. It was an absolute blast! You may remember our Taco Fiesta Teacher Appreciation Luncheon from last year. Or our Diner Themed Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. I love coming up with fun themes to celebrate all of the remarkable teachers and staff at our school. They really are the Greatest Staff on Earth and it absolutely would be a CIRCUS without all of them! haha! It’s funny because it’s true!
Kidding aside, if you’ve been a reader around here for a while then you already know that teachers hold a very special place in my heart. My husband is a teacher and my mom is a retired elementary school librarian at our school for 25 years before retiring a few years ago. I see firsthand the energy, love, and dedication it takes to be an educator. All of the teachers and staff work tirelessly every day to make our school a very special place. I truly felt so honored to be able to celebrate our incredible staff and show them all the love and appreciation they so greatly deserve!
Our Carnival Circus Teacher Appreciation Week
The events of the week included a popcorn bar, staff luncheon, lottery ticket gifts, a “chalk the walk” celebration, and our Circus Concessions carts making the rounds through the hallways of our school visiting all our teachers and staff. It was such a fun week! If you are planning a PTA or PTO Carnival Circus Teacher Appreciation Week in the future, I hope you can use some of these ideas. Of course, I couldn’t resist designing and creating some fun circus themed decorations and printable party decor too. All of the printable designs from this circus teacher appreciation theme are in my Just Add Confetti Etsy shop if you’d like to see them. You can check them out HERE.
We also thought it would be fun to have a few simple games at the luncheon. We decided on a “pick a lollipop” game and a “guess how many” game. The teachers loved the idea of winning a bulletin board design for next school year!
I hope you enjoyed our Carnival Circus Teacher Appreciation Week and it has inspired you to create your own! Looking for other teacher gift ideas for Teacher Appreciation or the end of the year? I’ve got you covered! Check out more fun teacher gift ideas HERE and in my Etsy shop HERE!
