Operation: Water War
Hi Friends! I’m so excited to share my Water War Backyard Birthday Party with all of you! This water war theme is really easy to pull together and perfect for a hot summer afternoon! I had so much fun planning and designing this party for Oriental Trading Fun365! My boys absolutely loved soaking each other (and me!) with the squirt guns, water sprayers, and water balloons. It was such a blast!
Let the squirt guns spray and water balloons soar!
It’s time to get wet and play, it’s a WATER WAR!
Since both of my boys have summer birthdays, I always love coming up with fun summertime celebrations for them and their friends. Last summer Sawyer had a Shark Splash Bash birthday party and I quickly realized that just adding water created some instant fun! So with that thought in mind, I knew a water war party would be a huge hit!
When I first started planning this outdoor celebration, I decided to group together the dessert table, the “Choose Your Weapon” squirt gun and sprayer display, and the party table in one section of the backyard. This allowed the rest of the backyard to be open for all of the water play.
You can’t have a water war without a wide variety of squirt guns and water sprayers! I designed a “Choose Your Weapon” printable sign and display to showcase all of our fun options. You might recognize the stand from some of Easton’s past birthday parties. It was a ticket booth at his Party Animal Zoo 2nd birthday and the checkout stand at his Farmers Market first birthday! My husband, Scott, originally made the stand out of two apple crates nailed together for the base, and then two pieces of wood on the sides and the sign on the top. We sure have been able to get some good use out of this DIY stand.
All of the printables from this party are available in my Etsy shop. You can find the complete printable pack here. Also, check out the full Water War Birthday Party on Fun365 to see all the details and items I used to put this party together. I hope it helps to make your Water War Birthday Party planning a breeze!
These backpack water sprayers are SO MUCH FUN!!!
As a party favor, I created these cute “Secret Soaker Agent” Towel Favors. I love this idea because they are both adorable and functional! Assembled with a rolled towel, goggles, hat, and lanyard, these favors can all be used by guests during the party and long after, too! The personalized hats come in a variety of colors which would also be a fun way to easily divide and identify teams during the water war. Get the full tutorial on how to make your own “Secret Soaker Agent” Towel Favors here.
I hope you enjoyed this Water War Birthday Party! Be sure to check out all of the party printables and even more details in the full post on Fun365.
If you use any of these ideas or designs, I’d love to see them! Please tag me on Instagram. I love connecting with all of you and seeing your awesome celebrations!
