Add a unique rustic element to your Easter table with this Bird Nest Easter Craft. I love combination of burlap in conjunction with the wreath branches and vines in this craft. Also, this is such an easy Easter DIY to put together and it can double as seasonal Easter home décor that you can use all season!
Let’s get started!
First, you will need the following materials:
Wide Natural Burlap
DIY Large Clear Christmas Ornaments
Mini Branch Wreaths
Boxwood Leaf Ribbon
Hot Glue Gun and Sticks
Step 1: Start by cutting pieces of Wide Natural Burlap roughly 18 inches long. Then, cut each individual piece in half lengthwise. You will need 4 total burlap strips for each nest.
Step 2: Place two of the burlap strips across one another, making a plus sign. Add a small amount of hot glue to the center to hold them together. Then, add two more strips at diagonals, making a star shape. Again, glue these strips together as well with a small amount of hot glue.
Step 3: Next, place half of a DIY Large Clear Christmas Ornament in the center of the burlap star. Add hot glue to the bottom of the ornament and affix it in place to the burlap.
Step 4: Add a small amount of hot glue to the inside center of the ornament. Then fold in one of the pieces of burlap.
Step 5: Continue folding and gluing in place all of the other burlap strips until the clear ornament is completely covered.
Step 6: Next cut a Mini Branch Wreath into three pieces. You will need a total of 2 wreaths for each nest that you make. One wreath will be cut into pieces, as you are doing in this step, and the second wreath will remain fully intact for the top rim of the nest.
Step 7: Hot glue the 3 Mini Branch Wreath pieces to the burlap on the outside curved portion of your nest.
Step 8: Now it’s time to add some greens to our nest! Cut pieces of Boxwood Leaf Ribbon and weave them in between the wreath pieces and all around the nest.
Step 9: Cut another piece of leaf ribbon from the roll and twist it around a mini wreath.
Step 10: Hot glue the wreath that you assembled in Step 9 to the top of your nest. It will sit slightly inside the ornament, with the burlap edge making an outer rim.
Step 11: Your Bird Nest Easter Craft is now done! Display on your Easter table or anywhere in your home as a piece of Easter seasonal décor! Place a DIY Scrapbook Paper or Twine Egg inside the nest to complete the look.
