Hi Friends! I have another fun Halloween gift idea to share with you all today. I’m so excited about these adorable little black cats riding pencil brooms! I think this is such a fun way to dress up a decorative pencil and spider ring to create a super cute Halloween treat idea. I had a lot of readers tell me that they really loved the Halloween Witch Pretzel Broomsticks that I created and they would love to make them for their kid’s classroom Halloween parties but they aren’t allowed food treats at their school. So I thought I would come up with a non-candy, non-food treat idea that would work well for classroom parties, The Teal Pumpkin Project, or just a sugar-free Halloween gift.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE THESE BLACK CATS RIDING PENCIL BROOMS:

This little DIY is so simple!! To assemble these black cats riding pencil brooms all you need are decorative pencils, plastic spider rings and my black cat free printable (located in the printable library). I picked up a big bag of spider rings and a few 12-packs of Halloween decorative pencils at our local Dollar Tree. Super inexpensive and easy to assemble…doesn’t get much better than that!

To assemble your Black Cats Riding Pencil Brooms Halloween treat idea just follow these 4 steps:

  1. First, download the black cat free printable that is located in the printable library. *Note: The version of the design that is located in the printable library is non-editable and would need to have a name handwritten on it to personalize. If you would like the editable PDF version of this design—with the ability to personalize the name(s)—it is available for purchase in my Etsy shop, HERE. 
  2. Next, cut out the entire perimeter of the cat and broom bristles.
  3. Then, with an x-acto knife carefully cut along the two white guide lines on the legs of the cat.
  4. Lastly, slide the pencil into the slits that you just created with the x-acto and wrap a spider ring around the pencil or legs of the cat. Done! Super easy and a really cute gift!
