Hi Friends! I can’t believe it’s already Day 9 of our “Just Add Confetti’s 10 Days of Kids Valentines” series! In honor of my favorite dance…haha…today I’m sharing my Robot Kids Valentine! When I was at Dollar Tree recently I saw these heart shaped spring toys and I immediately thought it would be fun to incorporate them into a whimsical robot design. Robots have so many buttons, switches and levers—I thought a body made out of a spring toy would be a good compliment. The step-by-step instructions are below. Also, if you missed any days in our series so far, here they are again — Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7 and Day 8!
To make this Robot Kids Valentine you will need the free printable (located in the printable library—more info at the bottom of this post), spring toys, twine and scissors. As I mentioned above I found the spring toys at Dollar Tree in a 6-pack for $1.
To assemble this Robot Kids Valentine, follow these 4 steps:
- The printable is available for free in the printable library. *Note: The version of the design that is located in the printable library is non-editable and would need to have a name handwritten on it to personalize. If you would like the editable PDF version of this design—with the ability to personalize the name(s)—it is available for purchase in my Etsy shop, HERE.
- Next, cut out the entire rectangular perimeter of the Robot Kids Valentine.
- Then, using your scissors, carefully poke small holes in the robot’s body just large enough to thread your twine.
- Lastly, attach your spring toy and knot the twine on the back. Done! So cute!!

Hi Alison,
Thank you so much for your message. The printable is a PDF file that contains editable fields (for the names). Just open the PDF in Adobe Reader, click where it currently says “Happy Valentine’s Day! Your Friend, Easton” and type the message and name you would like to include. Then just click “save” and print. If you don’t have Adobe Reader you can download it for free at http://www.get.adobe.com/reader. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks so much!
Alison
